Winter School trips

Our aim is to provide children with an environment that allows them to create their own experiences. They can skate on our large eco-friendly skate rink or burn up energy learning how to nordic ski on our 1.2km trail through the Enchanted Forest. Alternatively, they can walk through the Enchanted Forest taking more time to experience the sights and sounds whilst completing our interactive worksheets. They can also take up the challenge of finding their way through the giant snowflake shape hedge maze.

Children will not only be inspired by our unique environment and challenged by our activities but will be given the opportunity to partake in physical exercise, whilst benefitting from the fresh air and beauty of a country estate setting.

Launched in November 2006, the 'Learning outside the classroom' manifesto seeks to ensure that all children and young people experience the world beyond the classroom as an essential part of their learning and personal development. It is amazing what can be achieved in just one day outside the school.

'Design a Magical Sculpture Competition' - Win £500 for your school!

Stockeld Park invites school children to enter a competition to design a sculpture for the Enchanted Forest. The winning design will be brought to life by our team of creative artists and a school visit for the winning student will be arranged to give them an opportunity to meet the sculptor and be involved in the construction process of their design. In addition, Stockeld Park will award the winning school £500 for their art department, plus a Stockeld Park fresh Christmas tree for both the school and the winning pupil. For further details click here.

Above, a proud Holly Roberts aged 7 from Spofforth school stood in front of her Merlin Wizard Sculpture Design. Holly was one of the 2008 winners along with Tom Stevens age 12 of Wetherby High. Find out about when Holly brought her class on a visit to the Enchanted Forest to see her design. A school visit to the Enchanted Forest for her class was part of her prize.
